Spotlight: Rebecca Spainhour
On this terrific Tuesday of Veterinary Practice Manager Appreciation Week we are excited to spotlight another GA Practice Manager and to share their story. Rebecca Spainhour, Hospital Manager at Dockery, Mobley and Associates has entered the chat ❤️
"I was raised in a farming family in Sylvester, GA. My love for animals began at an early age while learning about, and taking care of the animals we raised. I have worked in pretty much every position within a practice over the years and enjoyed each position and it’s challenges.
I started working as a part time kennel assistant in high school before moving on to progressive positions. Working in each aspect of a practice and having experience in all areas taught me what needs to happen to make a practice successful. I would encourage other practice managers to spend time with the staff in each position so that they understand the unique challenges each position faces. Remembering where you started and passing on that knowledge is key to building a great team.
Managing a practice that sees zoo animals requires our Doctors and Technicians to have an expanded knowledge base that covers many different species and unique conditions. It is a very exciting part of our practice and is really rewarding. The education that Chehaw Park and Zoo provides for adults and children in our community is amazing. We also see the fish and reptiles at the Flint River Aquarium. It is the first educational aquarium in our area of it’s kind. We’re very proud to partner with these great organizations.
My biggest accomplishment is the difference we make in our patients’ lives on a daily basis. Seeing a patient get better in their time of need is what really inspires me and makes the challenges worthwhile."
Thank you for all that you do Rebecca ❤️
